Meet Y. Mark Hong, M.D., F.A.C.S. is one of the world’s first board-certified urologists to complete a fellowship in Integrative Medicine. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude from Rice University, Dr. Hong attended Stanford University School of Medicine where he received numerous awards and research fellowships in areas ranging from Prostate Cancer to Tissue Engineering with artificial nerve grafts.

Dr. Hong continued his general surgery training at the world-renowned Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and his urological surgery residency at Harvard Medical School.

While attending Harvard, Dr. Hong was selected as a national CaPSURE™ scholar in prostate cancer. This prestigious research fellowship allowed Dr. Hong to lead projects with world-leading scientists from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the University of California - San Francisco. Dr. Hong’s research on prostate cancer and the fear of cancer recurrence remains one of the first works of its kind in the published literature.

Dr. Hong completed a robotic and minimally invasive surgery fellowship at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Hong was internationally recognized as an expert in minimally invasive surgery by the Endourological Society in Munich, Germany. Dr. Hong has published in nearly every major international urological journal, having authored publications ranging from prostate cancer detection to healthcare policy.

Having trained under Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona, Dr. Hong recognizes healing comes from all aspects of one’s health, not just medications or surgeries.
