Overview
Integrative Urology provides personalized treatment plans to address prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, and kidney cancer. During a consultation, you can expect a treatment plan based on your unique needs, concerns, and condition.
Specialty Practice Areas
Prostate Cancer
One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lives. Fortunately, it is also a highly treatable form of cancer, especially if it is treated during the early stages of development. Prostate cancer usually grows slowly and will initially be confined to the prostate gland before spreading to other parts of the body.
Bladder Cancer
Bladder cancer may have no symptoms or more obvious symptoms, such as blood in the urine, frequent urge to urinate, pain when urinating, and back pain. It can be successfully treated, though it can also come back often. Patients with bladder cancer will need to schedule regular follow-ups to check for signs of recurrence.
Testicular Cancer
While relatively rare overall, testicular cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer among adolescent and young men. It is also one of the most curable cancers and can be detected during a self-examination.
Kidney Cancer
Diagnoses of kidney cancer have been on the rise, especially with improvements in computed tomography (CT) scans and other imaging. Kidney cancer treatment has a high rate of success, especially if it is caught at an early stage. Symptoms of kidney cancer include blood in the urine, weight loss, back pain, fever, and ongoing fatigue.
Cancer Care at Integrative Urology
TULSA-PRO™
A new procedure revolutionizing the treatment of prostate cancer. The TULSA-PRO™ or Transurethral Ultrasound Ablation Procedure is a FDA-approved minimally invasive procedure that uses direction HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound energy to ablate (destroy) targeted prostate tissue. The TULSA-PRO™ system ablates prostate tissue from the “inside-out” meaning that it avoids direct contact with the rectum, urinary sphincter, and neurovascular bundles (NVBs) surrounding the prostate. Traditional methods of treating prostate cancer can lead to damage of surrounding structures such as the sphincter and NVB’s which has been known to result in erectile dysfunction or incontinence. By using the TULSA-PRO™’s “inside-out” method, Dr. Hong avoids direct contact helping to preserve his patient’s functional abilities.
Benefits:
Minimally Invasive
Minimal Damage to NVB
Minimal Side Effects
Fastest Recovery

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
HIFU uses high-intensity focused ultrasound waves. It has safely been used outside the United States for years and was FDA-approved for prostate tissue treatment in 2015. We offer HIFU on an individualized basis.
Benefits:
Preserves Rest of Organ
Treats Multiple Forms of Cancer
Minimal Side Effects
Robotic Surgery
This state-of-the-art technology allows us to take a minimally invasive approach to traditional major surgical procedures. By employing the precision of robotics, it is possible to make smaller incisions and perform extremely precise movements with minimal risk. Integrative Urology employs robotic surgery for procedures such as radical prostatectomy (prostate removal) and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (partial kidney removal). Robotic surgery usually involves the da Vinci robot but evolving technology is also making possible remote robotic surgery such as used in the TULSA-PRO™ procedure.
Benefits:
Minimally Invasive
Smaller Incisions
Faster Recovery
Radiation Therapy
High-powered beams or pellets of radiation destroy cancerous cells. This therapy is often used to treat prostate and testicular cancer, as well as advanced forms of other cancers.
Benefits:
Eliminates Cancerous Cells
Treats Multiple Forms of Cancer
Active Surveillance
Because some cancers such as prostate and kidney cancer develop so slowly, you may not need treatment for months or even years after your diagnosis. Some men never require treatment at all. If you have a small, slow-growing cancerous mass and are not experiencing symptoms, we may recommend scheduling regular tests to check on your condition without actively treating the tumor. This may allow you to maintain your quality of life while not reducing the length of your life.
Benefits:
Monitors Cancer
Regular Tests
No Treatment Needed
